Can you help me pick a name for new kitten?
After grieving the loss of my beautiful black cat (named Beelzebub) for a while I got a new 3 month old kitten this week. I’d be interested in your suggestions for names.
He’s black with a small white spot on his chest. He is very sleek and angular. He really looks like the cats you see around Egyptian pyramids and stuff.

How is this idea for a story?
It’s a story where a girl is thrust into a strange, psychic land, and encounters a malevolent group of people who are trying to obtain information from other people’s minds to create a dangerous, fourth dimension of the psychic world.
Their goal is actually to obtain information from this girl’s subconscious to create this new dimension, and the girl must stop this from happening, using her own psychic powers.
Let me know if it’s lame, or confusing.
Lame and confusing in a good way? lol that’s hard to imagine

It is lame and confusing, in a good way. I’d give it a shot, the actual scriptwritting is where you make it or break it.

I wouldn’t say that it’s lame or confusing. It’s just vague at the moment but I’m sure once you start to brainstorm more details you can flesh it out into a full story.
Most famous stories have similar themes and seem to be retellings of old stories just with different characters and different scenarios. What makes each “retelling” unique are the details and how each story is molded by the writer’s imagination and writing style.

Hello
I am sure your cat is around you in spirit, it will always be in your heart and memories and is only ever a thought away.
Here are the names I thought of:-
Sirus
Orion
Delta
Horus
Lyrus
In general, all of the names you have and those from other people why dont you write them all down and individually cut the names and fold them, put them into a bag or bowl and shake them, then pick one name out – that may be the name for your new animal friend. All the best to you both.
Lots of Love

“Trying to obtain information from someone’s subconscious” sounds a bit like the movie “Inception”. Might want to watch out for that.
And when writing in the fantasy genre, you must remember that it’s a rather popular genre. Psychics, vampires, werewolves, etc…all of those things are a very easy thing for most to write about.
So as you may have noticed, a LOT of people have, and will be writing things of the sorts.
You must give your story some sort of flare that makes it unique. Something that will make your readers go, “Whoa! I’ve never seen anything like this before!” Though, they’re still reading the same story.
A reader hates reading a story, while ending up thinking, “Hey…didn’t I just read this yesterday?”
It seems a little cliche and your main character sounds a little Mary Sue, but this is only a short description so I hope I’m wrong. There’s a lot of stories about people thrust into other worlds. Your psychic world sounds like it could be original and unique. It would be interesting to see how it all works. The reason I’m saying your girl sounds Mary Sue-ish is because you say they want info from her subconscious to create this new dimension. Why hers? Why is she so special? And you say she has to stop them using her own psychic powers. Why does she get to have special psychic powers? Is she incredibly gifted and how did she get that way? Did she have to work for these powers or did they just fall into her lap? Is she the only one who can save the day and stop the bad guys? Be careful of making her too super-human and awesome. You want readers to be able to relate to your main character and if she’s so extraordinary, she can easily become an unrelatable Mary Sue.
It’s a really good idea! Though I’m a bit confused…
It’s okay. Why is this girl so important though? Why is she the only one who holds the answer to creating another dimension? Right off the bat of being dragged into this new world, does she get a hold of her powers? Be carefully not to make her all powerful, unless there is a good reason for it, or a Mary Sue.
Dont make it about magic and psychic crap, just figure out a way that a group of people are gonna use someone’s mind to create a physical fourth dimension, and then it won’t be lame and it’ll be good confusing, kind of like inception I guess.
