Is this a good team for the Elite four in HeartGold?
I was going to use these six pokemon. Of course I have to train them…
Machop-I’ll evolve it
Flaafy- Need to train it
Then probably my Ho-oh and Mr. Mime. Although I don’t really like him, I need a psychic Pokemon.
Suggestion by No Input Signal
typhlosion is good
gyrados is good
machop is not good
ampharos is good
and preferably lugia because of aeroblast, hydropump and psychic and fly if you teach it , but since ur stuck with heartgold, ho-oh will do, just not as well
and mr. mime… is not the best choice i got a kadabra, and taught it ice punch, and lance ended with a breeze

instead of MR. mime train an espeon, which is the eevee you get from bill

My boyfriend just kicked the Elite 4’s butt and he used
Dragonair lvl 39-40
Typhlosion lvl 46
Feraligator lvl 41 (trade through wireless system if you can)
Gyarados lvl 41
Ho-Oh lvl 46
Gengar lvl 40

Protect Poliwrath against Psych in Pokemon Red?
How do I protect the water-fighting pokemon Poliwrath against Psychic attacks in a generation 1 game like Pokemon Red? I know that in this generation only Bug Attacks can effectively harm Psychic Pokemon but even if I could a hack a Bug Move into my Poliwrath it wouldn’t be very realistic. Any suggestions?
Hunter is Ghost Poison. He’s weak against Psychic also in Gen 1 Psychic Pokemon are still not weak against Ghost Moves.

ghost attacks work too. get yourself a haunter at Lavender city. train it to level 45 or so (will take a long time)

Unfortunately, in the 1st generation games… psychics were like gods. It’s why they added Steel types (which psychics can’t hit hard) and Dark types (which psychics can’t hit at all) in the next generation. They have less weaknesses than dragons, even…
Here’s my opinion:
1. Get a Jolteon, force-feed it tons of Protein, and teach it Pin Missile. It bites, but psychics at least have low defenses. Also, Jolteons can outspeed psychics.
2. Get a sacrifice Pokemon that can land status inflicters. This can also work with Jolteon (thunder wave) or a Parasect (spore) or anything like that. Teach them hard-hitting moves, too.
3. Buy many many Carbos drinks and give them to your Poliwrath. Teach it powerful water-type moves and hope you’re fast enough.
